Bodoquena National Park

Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

This national park preserve the last remanescents of Wet forest in central Brazil. Some specialist afirm that this formations are actually part of the

higly threat biome known as Mata Atlântica, a biodiversity hotspot. The unique rock formations found over there provide an odd environment when compared with the sorroundings savannas. Recently declared a protect area, the park wasn’t openned yet for visitors. The expedition collected several different plant species and already identified a new species of bromeliad (Tillandsia bonita Martinelli & Versieux), named in hornor to Bonito municipality, the gateway to access the park beauties.
